What do you look like?

I'm 185cm (6 feet 1 inch) tall, I weight 65kg (140 pounds), I have blue eyes, I have very short light brown hair, I have a tattoo on my back that reads Veritas, I almost always have a goatee, and since January 2008 I've worn glasses. Does that answer all of your questions? Didn't think so. How about a picture?

What do you do?

Right now whatever I want. Up until recently I was a software developer for a start-up that went under, so now I'm looking for work. In the past I've done everything from running a skatepark to being a code monkey. I'm not terribly interested in anything other than software development anymore though.

In my free time I mostly play with my computer(s). Programming has been a hobby of mine for as long as I've had a computer to play with. I also like building/DIYing things. Electronics, furniture, storage buildings, 10 foot bowls, I enjoy it all. I've been described as a Jack of All Trades which is kind of awesome until you realize it means that you're a master of none.

What's your favorite music?

My primarily interest is in NIN. They have helped me through many a troubled time.

I won't get in to why I like the others, but I also like (in no specific order) Placebo, Marilyn Manson, Rilo Kiley, Interpol, Postal Service, The Faint, Angie Aparo, The Cure, Cursive, (some) David Bowie, Filter, A Perfect Circle, Outkast, Prodigy, Pulp, Rasputina, Snow Patrol, Stabbing Westward, She Wants Revenge, Garbage, and Gravity Kills. Some of these are quite old, but when I tried to come up with an off the top of my head list that's what I came up with.

We understand that you are a reader... what do you read?

I read many things from many different genres. That said, here are some of my favorites: The Diamond Age, Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, Ringworld, Old Man's War, Zodiac, 1984, Survivor, Lulaby, Choke, Invisible Monsters, The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three, The Wastelands, Wizard and Glass, Wolves of the Calla,The Dark Tower, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way, Song of Susannah, Naked Pictures of Famous People, House of Leaves, and many MANY more.

Movies, tv, etc... how about those?

I'm not even going to touch this... All I will say is that Napoleon Dynamite was bad and Battlestar Galactica and Heroes are good.

What is this site? What's it for?

This ladies and gentlemen is what we call a vanity site. It serves no useful purpose... it's just here to show you how cool I am and to let you know what's going on with my life.

I hand coded it all since I was dissatisfied with all of the CMS choices out there. There are a myriad of problems with them, but my decision to hand-code was mostly due to the fact that I am a bit of an elitist. I can't really justify it, but I feel like any developer worth their salt should hand code their sites. Plus, this way I can have exactly what I want.
